This is a great album that a lot of people knew about and loved, but at the same time it was slept on. Jamal Ski was down with BDP of for a while, but eventually went on to do his own thing.
I had a bad personal music experience with Jamal Ski here in the Bay Area(specifically Berkeley & Oakland) around 2001 or 2002. He use to stay out here, I linked up with him at a record store, we networked, and he said for a small price he would lay vocals to a song of mine at the time.
A few weeks later I paid him a portion of the $ amount we agreed to, , gave him a ride to his woman's house,gave him the beat and concept, and expected him to be a man of his word. All I have to say is he disappeared on me once he got the portion. I caught up with him on the phone months later, and he was acting very funny style about how he doesn't have time to do studio work. I told him to give me back my $, and he straight up said yeah, but kept playing the disappearing game until he ended up in Paris where he is now.
No disrespect to him or his legacy, ut I think homeboy was going through some kind of drug issues or living issues because this was a dope fiend move for real!!
